Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting regarding theproposed bridge replacement projects in Warrensville, Ashe County. Project B-3804ill replace Bridge No. 296 over North Fork New River on Campbell Road (S.R1351) and Project B-4704will replace Bridge No. 49 over Buffalo Creek on N.C. 194/N.C. 88. The meeting will take place on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 from 5 p.m. to 7p.m. at the Ashe County Middle School, Media Room located at 255 Northwest Lanein WarrensvilleThe purpose of these projects is to provide safer and more efficient trafficoperations. Existing Bridge No. 296 is functionally obsolete and Bridge No. 49 istructurally deficient and functionally obsoletes proposed to keep N.C. 194 /N.C. 88 open to traffic during construction ofProject B-4704,except during short term operations such as rock blasting. Theproposed offsite detour includes N.C. 88, North Main Street /Old Highway 16 (S.R.1573), Deep Ford Road (S.R. 1501), and West Deep Ford Road (S R. 1514). Thisdetour would result in 3.5 miles of additional travel for the typical userThe purpose of the public meeting will be to present information on the projgather public input on the proposed designs.The public may attend at any time during the above mentioned hours.
